The invention relates to a powder metallurgy product and a preparation method thereof. The powder metallurgy product is characterized by being prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 90-92 parts of iron powder, 1.2-2.0 parts of copper powder, 1-1.2 parts of nickel powder, 0.2-0.3 part of molybdenum powder, 2-3 parts of stearic acid, 1-2 parts of chlorinated paraffin, 0.2-0.4 part of nano meerschaum powder, 0.4-0.5 part of dichromium boride, 0.2-0.3 part of chromium boride, 0.1-0.2 part of ZrO2, 1.3-1.5 parts of SiO2 and 2-3 parts of dispersing agent. The powder metallurgy product and preparation method thereof have the advantages that element copper is added, so that the processability of the product is improved, a prepared flange is dense in tissue and good in microstructure, the pores are few, and the structural stiffness, hardness, fatigue resistance and tensile strength are excellent. Due to the adoption of mold pressing, the equipment is simplified, and the production cost is reduced.
