Conflictividad por la operación del transporte público de pasajeros (modalidad taxi) en conjuntos urbanos de Tecámac, Estado de México Surging conflicts from public transportation (taxis) in the urban centers of Tecámac, State of Mexico

2015
This paper displays the results of an exploratory research regarding the conflicts attributed to the public transportation (specifically in taxis) of passengers in Tecamac, State of Mexico. The purpose of this document is to trace the operability of public transportation that derived from the formation of new urban clusters. This topic is very relevant because these new trends are attributed directly to the redistribution of urban spaces through urban planning and not from random formation of settlements. The sources of this investigation were official documents and newspaper articles as well as interviews with relevant social actors. Among the obtained results, we partially concluded that there is not proper planning coordination between urban settlements and the public transport service. Moreover, urbanization projects do not take into account the conflicts that may arise from the processes of social interaction between old and new local actors.
