Abstract : The report covers work in Naples and London June 1964-65 on the two memory systems of Octopus. Subsidiary investigations have included studies and efferent pathways for the systems for killing and eating the prey. The numbers of nerve cells and fibres involved, their diameters and conduction velocities have also been studied.
