Effects of different culture media on the hyphal growth of Cordyceps sinensis strains.

In this paper,the hyphal growth of Cordyceps sinensis strains from 3 different origins cultured in different culture media was studied.The results showed that there were discrepancies among different culture media,hyphal germination time of different strains,diameters of hyphae at 40 days and hypha morphology. At the same time,the growth of hyphae in the optimal medium we had selected was 2～3 times faster than in the media reported,and the hyphae were white,stout and the quality was better.
