XPSandLEEDAnalyses onZirconium OxideModified (100) Surface of Molybdenum

2006
Ithasbeenfound that theworkfunction ofMo(100) surface isable toreduce to2.1eVbyheating itwitha slight layer ofzirconium oxide inavacuumcondition [1]. Herethelowworkfunction surface, whichis abbreviated toZrO/Mo(100), wasexamined aiming tounderstand thereducing mechanism ofthework function. Low-energy electron diffraction (LEED)isemployed toanalyze atomic arrangement atthesurface, andX-rayphotoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)toidentify thesurface chemical condition. Theexperiment gives almost thesameresults asfortheZrO/W(100) lowworkfunction surface.
