Familie und Gender. Rollenmuster und segmentierte gesellschaftliche Chancen

2011
On the basis of both the recent state of the art in research and the qualitative study “Family Biographies” carried out at the University of Augsburg, the authors posit the thesis of a bi-polar distribution of roles among the sexes. They aim at bringing to attention that a trend towards a balance between family, job, and leisure time does not seem to exist either among mothers or among fathers. As a result, consequences do not only take the form of dissatisfaction among those concerned and of social losses, but – with regard to the future – this also affects the tradition of the bi-polarity of gender roles.
