Finite Element Analysis of Roll-bending Process for Thin-wall Stainless Steel Tubes

The elastoplastic numerical simulation of thin-wall stainless steel tube was proceeded in bended forming process using LS-DYNA solver of ANSYS finite element analysis software.The simulation value and test results of bending angle of the tube were compared and analyzed,which proved the validity of finite element model for the tubes.Based on this,the stress and strain of the tubes in bending forming process were studied,meanwhile,the basic law of plastic deformation and effects of stess and strain on the tubes quality were posted.The results show that the medial surface wrinkling and the lateral surface unstability are the main failure form of the thin-wall stainless steel tubes in cold bending forming.
