The Dependence of Fluoride Incorporation into Mouse Incisor Teeth on Fluoride Concentration and Dosing

1974
Mice were given sodium fluoride solution containing 150 ppm F in various daily drinking doses for a period of 200 days. The fluoride content in the ash of lower incisors was assessed after 100 days and at the end of the experiment. The time required to reach the equilibrium state in incisors (i.e. to reach a steady level of fluoride content in incisors) was found to be inversely proportional to the quantity of fluoride solution administered. After the equilibrium state had been reached, the fluoride content in the incisors ceased to depend on the amount of fluoride solution administered.
