Research progress of the role of cytokines in epilepsy after viral encephalitis

Cytokines refer to produced by immune or non-immune cell, and are polypeptides which develop with relation to inflammation and immune response, and play a role through combining with the surface receptors of target cell. In recent years, more and more experimental and clinical studies have shown that, cytokines involved in the immune mechanism of viral encephalitis, while in the pathogenesis of epilepsy play an important role. In this paper, the new progress of domestic and foreign, for the cytokines in viral encephalitis after epilepsy in the specific mechanism of action in detail in order to provide the basis for treatment of epilepsy after viral encephalitis.
