Study on Bearing Capacity of PCC Pile under Complicated Load Condition

The vertical and horizontal bearing capacity of single pile is usually determined respectively in the design of pile foundation,and the influence of vertical load and horizontal load on the bearing capacity of piles is not considered. It would certainly not reflect the real conditions.The numerical model of PCC pile under complicated load condition is established by using the finite element software ABAQUS. The results of PCC pile field test are adopted to verify the numerical results. The results show that the horizontal displacement of the pile head and the pile body decreases with the increases of the early vertical load under the same post horizontal load. The existence of early vertical load is beneficial to the improvement of the ultimate bearing capacity of single pile. The changing rules of distribution of moment along pile under different vertical-horizontal load is different. When later horizontal load is less than the horizontal ultimate bearing capacity of the single pile,the bending moment along pile decreases with the increases of the pre-vertical load. However,when later horizontal load is larger than the horizontal ultimate bearing capacity of the single pile,the bending moment along pile increases firstly and then decreases with the increases of the pre-vertical load. The lateral soil resistance at different positions is different from pre-vertical load. The change of soil resistance at the side against the lateral load is obvious,while changes at other positions are small.
