Networks in Adult Education

2011
After the great success of the International Course of Lectures in the last semesters, the University of Duisburg-Essen aims at initiating a new lecture series in the winter semester 2010/11. The course will be offered in cooperation between the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Duisburg-Essen and the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE). Since the winter semester 2006/07 the University of Duisburg-Essen and the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE) have been offering an International Course of Lectures. The previous topics have been "Essentials in Adult and Continuing Education in Europe", "Trends in Adult and Continuing Education in Europe", "Professionalisation in Adult Education" and "Learning Cultures in Adult Education". The topic of this year's lecture is "Networks in Adult Education - Cooperation on a regional, national and international Level". Networks facilitate communication and prompt discussions. Because of globalisation and worldwide communication, the relevance of networks has been increasing in value. Therefore, seven experts will give an inside in their networks. Students and experts are welcome to attend the lecture on campus in the Library Hall (Bibliothekssaal) at the Campus Essen. This year it will take place in a two-week rhythm on Wednesday, 10-12h. As last year, all lectures will be streamed on the internet, so that experts and students from all over the world can join just in time or watch the presentations later. All presentations of the last four years have been recorded on DVD and are available.
