Feasibility evaluation direct in-vessel application mode emergency air cleaning system. Progress report October 1, 1975--December 31, 1975

1976
The initial experimental work on direct in-vessel application emergency air cleaning systems is described. Charges of up to four pounds of sodium were burned in a 90-m/sup 3/ chamber to produce sodium oxide aerosols with peak mass concentration ranging from 0.08 to 9 gm/m/sup 3/. Filter samples were taken to monitor the decay in mass concentration over a period of hours. Additional measurements were made to establish floor and wall deposition rates and particle size distribution.
