[FE1059] Economic Value of Florida Water Resources: Valuing the Quality of Water for Household Needs

2019
This paper reviews Florida-based studies that estimate the value households assign to quality of water for household needs. It is a part of the EDIS series “Economic Value of Florida Water Resources”, which discusses economic value of various benefit that people derive from Florida water resources. The benefits are often referred to as ecosystem services (or environmental services), as described in the first paper of this series (will include hyperlink). Just three Florida-based economic studies examining the value of water quality for household needs were found, and this limited number of studies indicate the need for additional research. The studies found illustrate the importance of investing in protecting and improving the quality of tap and well water used for household needs.
