The position shifting of charge transfer band in Eu3+-doped Re2O3 phosphors

Abstract A series of Eu 3+ ion doped Re 2 O 3 (Re = Sc, Lu, Y, Gd, La) phosphors have been synthesized via a simple urea-based homogeneous precipitation route. The position shifting of Eu 3+ - O 2- charge transfer (CT) band from the ligands O 2- to the central ion Eu 3+ and the 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 red luminescence of Eu 3+ ion in Eu 3+ -doped Re 2 O 3 phosphors has been investigated. In addition, the morphologies of Eu 3+ -doped Sc 2 O 3 , Ln 2 O 3 (Lu 2 O 3 , Y 2 O 3 , Gd 2 O 3 ) and La 2 O 3 phosphors are irregular-shaped, approximate spherical and spindle-shaped, respectively. Our work provides a reference for the Eu 3+ -doped other oxide.
