A pharmaceutical composition comprising an aqueous solution of water for injection, ibuprofen and a solubilizing agent selected ibuprofen between (i) tribasic sodium phosphate, tribasic potassium phosphate or a combination of tribasic sodium phosphate and tribasic potassium phosphate in a molar ratio of ibuprofen solubilizing agent with respect to ibuprofen of 0.65: 1 to 0.9: 1; or (ii) dibasic sodium phosphate, dibasic potassium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, potassium phosphate monobasic or a combination of any of the above, along with an alkalizing agent in an amount to provide a solution of solubilized ibuprofen when ibuprofen is added the mixture of solubilizing agent ibuprofen / alkalizing agent at a ratio of ibuprofen solubilizing agent with respect to ibuprofen from 0.8 to 1.1: 1, so that the pH of the resulting aqueous solution of ibuprofen is 6 5 to 9; the remaining colorless transparent aqueous solution when ibuprofen is diluted from a concentration of 100 mg / ml to 1 mg / ml.
