Study on the Distribution of Production of Illex argentinus and Its Relationship with Sea Surface Temperature in the Southwest Atlantic Ocean in 2000

2005
The paper is made based on the databases of Chinese mainland fishing vessel’s production and the sea surface temperatures(SST), and the analysis is followed with the format of 1°×1° latitude and longitude. By the fisheries GIS software Marine Explorer 4.0, it shows that the central production area of Argentine shortfin squid is around the waters between 45°S and 60 °W, but the production and catch per day in different months have relatively fluctuated, and it gets to the higher summit in February and March. The suitable SST in fishing ground is from 7 to 14 ℃, which is tested by K-S Analysis. The suitable SST is variable in different months, 11~12 ℃ in February,10~12 ℃ in March, 8~9 ℃ in April,7~8 ℃ in May. The fishing ground is available to be formed and the catch is improved in the sea areas where the SST is a little more than the historical average level.
