Automated Vehicle Guidance (AVG) systems are expected to have a major impact on traffic and transport. In order to reap the benefits and offset or avoid the disadvantages of AVG, correct and timely choices will have to be made. The Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Manage-ment, the University of Groningen, SWOV, TNO and TRAIL have drawn up a preliminary business plan, that describes the questions which have to be answered, and the actions that need to be taken in a phased and structured manner to gain greater insight into the potential of AVG.
