Determination of Ursolic Acid and Oleanolic Acid in Cortex Granati by RP-HPLC

Objective To develop a quantitative method for simultaneous determination of ursolic acid and oleanolic acid in Cortex Granati by RP-HPLC.Methods HPLC with photodiode array detector(PAD) was carried out on Kromasil C18 column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) at 28℃ using methanol-water-phosphoric acid(88∶12∶0.1) as mobile phase with a flow rate of 0.8 ml·min-1 and detected wavelength was at 210 nm.Results The good linear relationship was obtained under the optimum conditions.The recoveries of the standards added for ursolic acid and oleanolic acid were 99.3% and 98.5%,respectively,while the relative standard deviations was 2.20 % and 1.78%.Conclusion The method is rapid and precise.It can be used to determine the ursolic acid and oleanolic acid in Cortex Granati.
