The invention discloses a power transformer winding axial pretightening force monitoring method based on excitation current. The winding cuts a 50Hz leakage magnetic field in a frequency of 100Hz and generates a motional electromotive force with a 50Hz component and a 150Hz component. Winding vibration state evaluation is performed through monitoring change trends of the 50Hz component and the 150Hz component in the winding excitation current of the power transformer in no-load operation, and the change trend of the pretightening force is monitored according to the vibration state of the winding. The power transformer winding axial pretightening force monitoring method has an advantage of easy and convenient application.
