Emergency contraception in Europe: equal access for all?

This article reviews findings from a survey of key experts in 25 countries conducted by the European Consortium for Emergency Contraception (ECEC). While the ECEC plans to gather data from all of the 53 countries comprised in the WHO definition of the European Region so far data has been collected and validated on access policies and prescription statuses cost and reimbursement policies guidelines and common practices and use from the following countries: Albania Austria Belgium Bulgaria Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Hungary Italy Latvia Malta the Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Romania Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey and the United Kingdom.
