Development of the Monte Carlo method for the calculations of the thermoluminescence glow curves in the case of the defect interaction model

1996
The development is described of the Monte Carlo (MC) method for the calculation of the thermoluminescence intensity when defect interactions are considered during the readout. Five simple cases in which different types of reactions occur between defects were studied. Results obtained using the MC method were in fair to good agreement with those obtained using the Runge-Kutta (RK) method. The computer times for the MC and RK calculations were comparable and about 30 s to a little over a minute on a IBM PC/AT compatible computer based on the Intel 80486 processor (33 MHz).
