Assembly comprising an intervertebral implant for immobilising a vertebra with respect to another and an insertion instrument of the implant

2009
The assembly (1) comprises an intervertebral implant (2) and an instrument (3) installation of the implant, the implant (2) comprising a longitudinal end to be connected to the instrument (3), and the instrument (3) comprising a rod (26) with a free distal end, on which the implant (2) is intended to be removably mounted. According to the invention, - the longitudinal end of the implant (2) to be connected to the instrument (3) has a cavity (15) and the implant (2) is connected to two flexible blades (6a , 6b) each extending from one of its longitudinal ends; - the distal end (28) of the rod (26) of the instrument (3) is intended to be engaged in said cavity (15) of the implant (2), with the possibility of pivoting of the implant (2 ) relative to the instrument (3) and the instrument (3) comprises releasable means (22) for retaining the strands (6a, 6b) in tension, adapted to release completely said strands (6a, 6b).
