Analysis of quality of life in dialysis population in Jiangning Nanjing

Objective To evaluate the quality of life of dialysis population and to explore the correlated factors.Methods 35 hemodialysis (HD) patients and 30 peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients in Jiangning dialysis center were enrolled.A cross-sectional analysis of our dialysis population was made using the disease-specific questionnaire (short form health survey) SF36 questionnaire.Results The HD and PD patients were similar in aspects of the SF-36 questionnaire.Conclusions The SF-36 of patients on hemoand peritoneal dialysis was affected by anemia and parathyroid hormone (PTH).Moreover,the score of SF-36of PD patients was impacted by the level of education、dialysis volume 、the length of time on dialysis.It would promote the quality of life of dialysis population by improving all factors above.
