A Study between Blood Platelet Parameters and Grading and Staging of Liver Tissues in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B

2006
Objective To study the relationship between blood platelet(PLT) parameters and grading and staging of liver tissues in patient with chronic hepatitis B(CHB).Methods An electronic impedance method was used for PLT and mean blood platelet volume(MPV) in 135 cases CHB patients.Liver biopsy was conducted simultaneously to determine the inflammation grade(G) and fibrosis stage of the liver tissues(S).Results PLT were not different in G1、G2、G3(P 0.05).PLT were significant different between G4 and G1(P(0.01)).PLT were not different in S0、S1、S2、S3(P 0.05).PLT were significant different between S4 and S0(P0.01).MPV were not different in G1、G2、G3(P0.05).MPV were significant different between G4 and G1(P0.01).MPV were not different in S0、S1、S2、S3、S4(P0.05).Conclusion The hepatic activity index and hepatic fibrosis increases as PLT level decreases. The hepatic activity index increases as MPV level increases. There is no significant correlation between MPV and hepatic fibrosis.
