Method and reactor electro-reduction of sf6 gas

The present invention relates to a method of electro-reduction of sulfur hexafluoride gas (SF6), characterized in that it involves the implementation of the following steps: a) introduction of the SF6 gas in a reactor electrowinning reduction containing a base and an anhydrous solvent for said salt SF6 gas, b) electroreduction of SF6 by applying appropriate loads to the coulometric electrodes of the electro-reduction reactor, c) if appropriate, control the disappearance of SF6, and d) removal of SF6 degradation products, including the reaction intermediate radical species SF6 reduction.
