Value of ultrasonic diagnosis in diseases of the gallbladder and bile ducts. A survey

1983
: This paper presents a survey of possibilities and limitations of ultrasound in diseases of the gallbladder and the biliary tract. The diagnostic value of ultrasound is demonstrated and compared to other radiologic procedures as i.v. cholecystocholangiography, transhepatic cholangiography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiography. The diagnosis of gallbladder lesions and extrahepatic biliary tract obstruction can be sufficiently assessed by ultrasound, in most cases there is no need of other invasive procedures.
