Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy from 18 Weeks Gestation.

2019
Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) is rare, with an incidence of 5 cases per 100, 000 pregnancies. Classically it presents after 30 weeks gestation with non-specific symptoms. In severe cases, multi-organ failure, and maternal and fetal mortality may occur. The Swansea criteria can assist in diagnosing and facilitating early management (1, 2). We report this as the earliest occurring AFLP as per gestational age.
