EVALUACIÓN DE ACETILCOLINESTERASA EN PECES POECÍLIDOS COMO BIOMARCADOR DE EXPOSICIÓN A PLAGUICIDAS EN EL RÍO SAN PEDRO MEZQUITAL, NAYARIT

2016
Agriculture is one of the main sources of pollution of aquatic ecosystems due to the indiscriminate use of pesticides. The San Pedro Mezquital River is the seventh largest river in Mexico. The river is born in the state of Durango and ends in Nayarit. It covers more than 2,763,406 ha, of which 279,648 ha are used for agricultural activities. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the activity of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE), biomarker of exposure by organophosphorus pesticides and carbamates in fish caught in the San Pedro River. For this purpose, four sampling stations were selected along the river.
