Simultaneous Removal of SO_2 and NO by NaClO_2 Acidic Solutions

2008
Experiments for studying simultaneous removal of SO_2 and NO from simulated flue gas, with NaClO_2 solutions as the absorbents, were investigated in a self-designed bubble reactor, while various influencing factors on the removal efficiencies analyzed.Experimental results show that, all the original concentration,pH value and temperature of absorbent NaClO_2 solution as well as the concentration of SO_2 and NO,have a significant influence on the removal efficiency. Under optimal conditions determined by considering former experimental results, removal efficiencies of SO_2 and NO respectively reached 100% and 95.2%.Besides, products of desulfurization and denitrification were analyzed by photochemical methods, and the results show that sulfate radical ion is the main desulfurization product, while nitrate radical ion is the main denitrification product.According to product analysis, the desulfurization and denitrification mechanism of NaClO_2 acidic solutions is proposed.
