Helixbildung in Matrizes von lyotrop-nematischen Diskenphasen durch Induzierung mittels Corticoiden, Androgenen, Östrogenen und Cardenoliden

1998
In the lyotropic-nematic phase region lyotropic-cholesteric phases (Ch D ) were induced by addition of optically active compounds such as corticoides, androgenes and estrogenes. When exposed to a magnetic field, the lyotropic-cholesteric phases show various textures. The so-called spaghetti-like textures were used to determine the pitch length. The pitch lengths are dependend on the chemical structure and concentration of the optically active components. Different parameters of the helix formation such as concentration regions of the smallest and largest pitch lengths and the helix-twisted-power (so called HTP-values) were determined and compared. In some cases phase transitions into an isotropic phase or into a lamellar phase were observed in the saturation region of pitch formation.
