Avaliação da qualidade de vida dos agentes comunitários de saúde do Distrito Sanitário Oeste de Belo Horizonte/MG

OBJECTIVE: Evaluate the community health workers quality of life of west sanitary district of Belo Horizonte city. METHODS: Observational, transversal study consisting of 63 community health workers, at west sanitary district of Belo Horizonte city, Minas Gerais state. The sample calculation determined that the sample should be composed of 50 participants. To select a representative sample, a Family Health Team for each health center was drawn, using the randomization.com program. Sociodemographic and quality of life data (WHOQOL-bref) and a sociodemographic questionnaire were obtained. Measures of central tendency and dispersion, as well as descriptive analysis of the data by calculating the frequency distribution, performed. The results were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics software, version 19.0. RESULTS: Average age was 43,7, there was a predominance of female (96,8%), married/stable union (60,3%), who had complete high school (71,5), and 31.7% had been in the profession for more than 15 years. The percentages of CHA who classified the quality of life as positive, and have a positive perception of their health, were 49.2% and 39.7%, respectively. Psychological (65,2) and social (64,5) domains achieved higher scores; physical (60,3) and environmental (50,7), minor scores. CONCLUSIONS: The evaluated community health workers have a low perception of their quality of life, with the environment domain being the most impacted.
