Effect of freezing and thawing on the biodegradation of atrazine in the soil

2010
The soil temperature, water content,porosity,water-soluble organic carbon, microbial cell activity and the concentration of arazine in the soil contaminated by atrazine through the freeze-thaw cycle were studied by indoor simulation. The results showed that the soil temperature had obvious changes during after 3.5~7.5hs' thawing. The water content decreased with the time during the thawing. The porosity of 3 different depths of soil decreased at first and then increased. The water-soluble organic carbon discharged at the beginning 1~2 h,and then decreased. The microbial cell activity in the soil was weak at first, with the passage of time it began to increased and the concentration of atrazine in the soil then decreased correspondingly.
