Presentation of Case A fifty-three-year-old business executive was admitted to the hospital because of persistent fever. Three weeks previously nausea, vomiting and diarrhea developed, with elevation of the temperature to 103°F. With aspirin and demethylchlortetracycline (Declomycin) the symptoms improved. He returned to work after a week but remained fatigued. During a game of golf twelve days before admission he became aware of a dull ache in both testes and in the left leg.
