Evaluation of the stability constants of uranyl association complexes with phosphate, oxalate, tartrate, and citrate anions in solutions of constant ionic strength

1989
Abstract The indirect uranyl ascorbate indicator method is used for the determination of the classical formation constants of uranyl association complexes in solutions of 0.05 ionic strength. Anions of strong complexing power on uranyl ions are characterized on the basis of the magnitude of the K values. A sequence of complexation is established for the investigated anions: phosphate, oxalate, tartrate, and citrate. This is as follows in order of decreasing complexing power: citrate > tartrate > phosphate > oxalate.
