Violência de gênero e a lei 11.340/2006: olhares sobre a violência contra as mulheres em audiências de retratação

The text seeks to analyze how violence against women is configured in retraction hearings, provided for in article 16 of Act 11.340/2006. The research articulated bibliographical, documentary and field research, by following retraction hearings, involving crimes of domestic and family violence against women, in the district of Criciuma/SC, as well as by applying questionnaires. The survey showed that most of the women who answered the questionnaires had long-term and intimate affective relationships with the accused, in some cases, over 11 years; in the case of men, relationships over six years predominated.  Hearings accompanied,  demonstrated the complexity of such relationships and the challenges that have been updated in the analysis of violence against women, which suggest questioning the limits of the legislation itself in contexts of naturalization of gender violence.
