Correction and analysis of geometric distortion in side scan sonar image

In order to correct the geometric distortion in Side-Scan Sonar images,this study using the seven-parameters transform formula of the tow coordinate,analyzed the effect of tow's attitude,speed,heave and sound velocity profile,geometric distortion in side scan sonar,and derived the model for correcting geometric distortion produced by tow's attitude,speed,heave and sound velocity profile.The study result shows that the model can correct geometric distortion in side scan sonar image effectively,with little error,having theoretical and practical significance in target-detecting underwater.
