CALCULATION OF THE ENDURANCE CHARACTERISTICS, LOADING PARAMETERS, AND RELIABILITY INDICES OF THE SUPPORTING ELEMENTS OF THE DESIGN

The methods of evaluating the reliability of parts functioning under conditions of dynamic loading are examined. Using the side frame of a freight car as an example, the application of the methods is illustrated and the service life and indices of reliability are calculated. The results of the calculation are compared with statistical data on operational failures.
