ESTUDO TEÓRICO-EXPERIMENTAL DE LIGAÇÃO VIGA-PILAR COM CONSOLO METÁLICO EMBUTIDO: DESENVOLVIMENTO NA PESQUISA, PROJETO E PRODUÇÃO

2013
This paper presents an experience of integration of research-design-production that occurred during a MSc research on beam-column connection for precast concrete structures that was carried out at NETPre-UFSCar. The research carried out by BACHEGA (2013) comprised a theoretical-experimental study of a beam-column connection using embedded steel billet (hidden corbel), but also it involved the technical assistance for design and production in conjunction with a precast company for the application of the technology in a new building in Sao Carlos-SP. The steel billet comprises of a hollow profile filled with grout and embedded into the precast column after the demolding, which has been extensively applied in the UK. For the theoretical study, the criteria design was based on ELLIOTT (2002), but the analytical models were based on the design manuals in PCI (2010) and FIB (2008). The experimental study was based on GORGUN (1998) and O´FLANNERY (1998). For the connection selection, both aspects of design optimization and production rationalization have been considered in terms of application of this technology in Brazil. In this context, the paper presents the application of this technology in the new building of the INOVA Institute (Parque Eco-Tecnologico Dahma) in Sao Carlos, showing the integration of this research with the design and the production phases in partnership with USICON Precast Constructions.
