Local Oxygen Tension and Blood Flow in the Normal and Chronic Ischemic Myocardium in the Anesthetized Dog

1973
The aim of our experiments was to compare simultaneously measured regional myocardial blood flow and oxygen tension in the normal heart muscle and in a district supplied via interarterial collaterals. Coronary occlusion and the development of collateral vessels was achieved by placing an ameroid constrictor around the left descending coronary artery between three weeks and six months prior to the acute experiment. Furthermore, the effect of three coronary active drugs was investigated.
