Mechanochemical Synthesis of Nanosized Compounds in CeO2-MoO3 System

2018
The mechanochemical treatment (MCHT) of CeO 2 -MoO3 system with atomic ratio Ce/Mo=15:85, 25:75, 50:50 and 75:25 during 2, 4 and 8 hours in air was conducted. Obtained samples were studied by methods of XRD, N2 adsorption, FT-IR-spectroscopy, ESR and TEM. Catalytic properties of the compositions in ethanol selective oxidation and adsorption ability to dye removal from water solution were studied. The decrease of oxides particles size, formation of nanocomposites and increase specific surface area were established. It was shown that MChT of Ce/Mo=50:50 sample permits to obtain the acetaldehyde with 96 % yield at 473 K from ethanol. The composition Ce/Mo=50:50 after 8 hours of MChT has a high adsorption ability in dye safranin T removal from water solution.
