Mechanically alloyed sintered steels with a high hard phase content

1990
Abstract The high wear resistance and good mechanical properties which are often required in sintered steels can be obtained using multiphase materials. The traditional method of providing these hard phases is by means of carbide precipitations, however, this is expensive. Instead powders which remain inert during sintering can be used. This permits steels which can be sintered to high densities under normal reducing sintering atmospheres.
