Drug Resistance and Distribution Status of Pathogenic Bacteria in Urinary Tract Infection

2009
OBJECTIVE To investigate distribution and drug resistance status of pathogenic bacteria in urinary tract infection and offer scientific basis for reasonable usage of antibiotics.METHODS All 318 strains of pathogenic bacteria isolated from urinary tract infection specimens were identified and drug susceptibility tests were performed by K-B methods.RESULTS Among pathogenic bacteria isolated, the top five pathogens of the isolating rate were Escherichia coli accounting(61.9%),coagulase negative Staphylococcus(10.1%),Klebsiella Pneumoniae(9.4%),Enterococcus(9.1%)and Proteus(8.2%).Apart from 100.0% susceptibility to imipenem in Gram-negative bacteria and to vancomycin in Gram-positive bacteria, pathogenic bacteria were resistant to the other antibiotics in different degree.CONCLUSIONS Drug resistance has been emerging in pathogenic bacteria in urinary tract infections. We should strengthen to monitor and control them.
