Action potentials recorded intracellularly from differentiated mouse teratocarcinoma cells in culture

1977
Abstract Under appropriate in vitro culture conditions, mouse embryonal carcinoma can give rise to a variety of differentiated cell types, including those having the morphology of nerve cells. We report here that it is possible to evoke from such cells potential changes resembling classical neuronal action potentials, thereby indicating functional differentiation of the malignant stem cell.
