Ultrastructure and number of Kupffer cells in the mouse liver during acute CCl4 poisoning

: The ultrastructure and the number of Kupffer cells in different zones of hepatic lobules of mice were studied following CCl4 injection. Migration of the Kupffer cells to necrotic zones of the hepatic lobule after CCl4 administration was detected. These data allow a tentative suggestion that the Kupffer cells are conditionally resident macrophages.
