Micro-frequency jump design of experiments investigation

A design of experiments approach was taken to discover the cause of micro-frequency jumps in AT-cut fundamental crystals. Six process variables were studied, and it was found that the predominant factor affecting microjump performance was the surface preparation. The paper describes the method of assignment of variables, the process variables, the method of measurement, and the statistical analysis of the results.
