Sterilisation tubaire par laparoscopie en post-partum. (Postpartum tubal sterilization by laparoscopy.)

304 cases of tubal sterilization by laparoscopy performed in the immediate postpartum period are discussed. The average age of the patients was 32.8 years and average parity was 3.7. There were 8 cases of major late complications and the factors possibly involved are discussed. It is concluded that the operation is a useful technique of permanent sterilization since it can be performed in the postpartum period without requiring a longer hospitalization. Its effectiveness w as 100% without any pregnancy reported.(AUTHORS MODIFIED)
