The fluoride catalyzed reaction between acyl fluorides and monomeric formaldehyde affords fluoromethyl carboxylates in acceptable yields. Fluoromethyl fluoroformate, readily accessible from the corresponding dichloro compd., condenses with amines to give fluoromethyl carbamates. [on SciFinder (R)]
