Study on Classification of Work Processes and Workload of Approaching Controller

2006
Air controller is the core in the air control, whose workload decides directly the airspace capacity. The workload includes two parts, i.e. the observable objective workload and the cognitive subjective workload. After analyzing the real time data captured in Chengdu Approach Control Department, it is found that the radar control work is divided into 18 processes, and the difficulty coefficient of each process is made certain. Then, the controller workload is calculated by MMBB method (Japan). The maneuver time of each aircraft and deliberate time of each aircraft are confirmed, from which the controller workload for each aircraft and the airspace capacity could be obtained.
