Rose Oil from Rosa damascena Mill., Raised on Alkaline Soils

Abstract Rosa damascena Mill. is raised successfully on alkaline soil having pH 9.5 to 10 and rich in exchangeable sodium. The oil yield was found to be 0.04 % and the composition of the oil corresponds to the Bulgarian rose oil, which fetches highest price in the international market.
