Performance optimization of passive SAW sensor

This paper focuses on design and performance optimization of SAW devices. A two-port delay-line structure on top of 128YX lithium niobate and ST-X Quartz was fabricated with uniform IDTs. Frequency dependent simulations were conducted on the device. The fabricated devices were characterized, analyzed and discussed is this paper. Moreover, to optimize the performance of the SAW device, impedance mismatch in SAW device was compensated by designing a proper impedance matching circuit. The ADS simulation was performed to simulate the matching circuit. The obtained results are analyzed to help in the future development and modelling of these kind of devices as application specific sensor.
